Our Story

In early 2020, Kathy was the Director of Sales  at the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle.  As venues were closing and events were canceling due to the pandemic, she asked an important question: “How are we, as a venue, going to stay relevant in the virtual and hybrid worlds?”

In search of a platform that would represent a venue as it looks and feels in person, not gamified or animated, and with networking opportunities for the guests, Kathy reached out to trusted partner, Niki McKay, during one of their working lunches together.

Niki, CEO and Founder of Blue Danube Productions and a veteran leader in the event planning industry, and her team, did some research and were surprised to find there was a gap in the industry that represented a real opportunity to create something people truly needed: a platform that would provide the venue itself with opportunities for digital engagement.

galoo was created to bridge that space.

Niki McKay

Founder & CEO

A first generation American and daughter of Hungarian refugees and immigrants, Niki McKay has been a dynamic, noteworthy leader in the event production space for over 20 years.  In 2007, she founded the award-winning Blue Danube Productions, and has worked with partners such as Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Facebook Reality Labs (Oculus) and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2020, Niki founded galoo, a Seattle-based SaaS startup that provides a suite of tools to help clients bring people together for an immersive virtual or hybrid experience at any event or space, anytime from anywhere. As galoo's CEO, she leads a team that transforms client relationships into powerful partnerships.

Kathryn Jobs Gerke

VP, Sales & Marketing

With 35 years in sales and event management, Kathy’s experience includes management of marketing, sales, event planning, operations, and training. She believes success is in the selection, training, development, and mentorship of teams, and building your business based on a focus toward both your guest and your team. As Vice President of Sales & Marketing at galoo, Kathy is focused on helping organizations leverage galoo's platform to craft powerful experiences, stay relevant, and transform in the new normal. 

Brad Ramaley

Director, Customer Success

Brad has 15-years of experience in commercial AV production, live event production, facility management, system design and integration, and service development. In his dual role as Director of Customer Success and Product Manager, Brad onboards clients into galoo, handles technical needs, and oversees the product development team. His ability to build rapport with clients and team members alike, combined with technical expertise sets galoo apart.
